Private Podiatry Service
Rory Orr has joined the practice as our new podiatrist/chiropodist. Rory brings with him 20 years of experience and he has worked in both the NHS as well as in Private practice.
“My aim is to provide a first class foot health service in a professional, relaxed and friendly environment”.
The practice, which is situated within the Broads Suite has recently been equipped with brand new state of the art podiatry facilities in time for the official opening in July.
This all new service has been introduced in response to patient requests for a high quality, local service tailored to meet the needs of the local population.
“Some people do not have any particular problems with their feet, but are unable to manage nail cutting for themselves. We have responded to this demand by providing a cost-effective ‘Simply Toenails’ nail cutting service”.
And of course for those who do have foot problems or difficult to manage feet, Rory is able to offer a comprehensive range of foot care and advice all aimed at keeping your feet comfortable and keeping you active.
“The newer title of Podiatrist is gradually replacing the title of chiropodist, reflecting the high standards of education and training achieved by the modern profession and required by the Health Professions Council (HPC)” Rory explains, “We are a global profession and it is sensible to use the same title as our colleagues in the United States, Canada and Australia have been for many years”.
The HPC has been set up to safeguard the health and well-being of patients using the services of the professions it regulates and to ensure that the public has access to and are treated by health professionals who are qualified and competent according to the standards that it has set for competency.
Whichever title you prefer – Chiropody or Podiatry – we look forward to welcoming all those in need of our new foot care facilities!
